What do you do when you have more than one favorite holiday? You simply go with the flow baby! Unfortunately I'm not one of those folks who can make myself work on holiday projects months prior to the actual day of the holiday, so when everyone else is in Christmas mode in August and September, I'm just starting to think about my Halloween "to do" list. Thank God I'm not a buyer for a retail store because I would have a difficult time buying for Christmas in the spring.
When I was younger my affliction wasn't a problem because I was great under pressure, but now that I'm over 50 I find it very depressing that I still have the snow lady yard art from December 2008 to get painted for our 2009 Christmas yard display. My hubby has created a great ice skating scene with a frozen pond, a daddy snowman, penguins, polar bears, and a little child snow person, and, as you can see from the photo above, because of me, the family is without a Mom. I have tons of excuses for slacking but none that would provide a good reason for my unpainted gal. I know what I'll do. I will give my procrastination a clinical sounding name, throw in a few stats to back it up, and BOOM! I will now tell everyone that the reason I don't get things done is because I suffer from HADD (Holiday Attention Deficit Disorder). Hey don't laugh! People get big grant bucks to do research on all sorts of ridiculous things, why not my HADD affliction?
If I get my chilly chick painted I will post a photo of her, if not check back at Easter time and maybe I will have her done.
